Obituary For Helen Burgan-Wood

Helen Alfredia Burgan-Wood, 84, peacefully entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 12, 2015 surrounded by her children. Mrs. Wood was the daughter of the late Pearl & Boyce Burgan. She was reared in the home of her grandmother, the late Rosa Lee Chapman. She was the widow of Willie James Wood. Helen was a member of Fairforest First Baptist Church. She retired from Amoco Fabrics and Fiber. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: her daughter, Wanda (James) McDaniel of Greer, SC; her son, Willie (Guella) Wood of Spartanburg, SC; her two granddaughters, Andrea (Melvin) Jones of Atlanta, GA and Jakayla Wood of Spartanburg, SC; her great-granddaughter, Maliyah Jones of Atlanta, GA; and her sister, Dolores Russell of Philadelphia, PA. Helen was preceded in death by her brother, Boyce Burgan; and her sisters, Lorraine Burgan, Ruth Washington, Lenora Feaster and Evelyn Betsill. A Celebretion of the Life of Helen Wood will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC. Reverend William Staley and Pastor Allen Dawkins will officiate. Interment will be in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens, 2310 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC. The family will receive friends at 1086 Hayne St., Spartanburg, SC from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Wanda I'm very sorry for your lost how ever your mom was a great person I met your mom several years ago and we really got alone I felt she cared for me and I know I cared for her I could talk to her as if she was my mom.Wanda I turly loved her I will always remember the visit we had at that Mag place. Always remember what a great mother you had as well as a great mom you and your bother still have. she is looking after you.Remember we all loved her however God loved her more.
