Obituary For Pastor Charles Walker

Spartanburg, SC - Pastor Charles “Alex” Walker, 50, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 12, 2016. Pastor Walker was the son of Martha Ann Williams of Winston, Ga. and Larry (Shirley) Walker of Decatur, Ga. He was the husband of Angela Glenn Walker. Alex was a member of the Thompson Chapel Baptist Church, Jonesville, SC and the Pastor of the Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, Pacolet, SC. He was employed with Robert Bosch Corporation, Anderson, SC, as a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer for almost 10 years. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: his sisters, Victoria (Freddie) Thomas, Sharonda (Curtis) Madison; his brother, Jarvis (Miah) Walker; his aunts, Gail (James) Harris, Mattie (Oliver) Hooks, Eleanor Williams; his uncles, Theodus Williams, Bruce Williams; his mother-in-law, Mary (Vaughn) Smith of Spartanburg SC; his father-in-law, Willie Dickens of Fayetteville, NC; his godson, Curtis Glenn of Spartanburg, SC; and a host of nieces and nephews. A Celebration of the Life of Pastor Charles “Alex” Walker will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 700 S. Converse Street, Spartanburg, SC. Interment will be held in the Heritage Memorial Garden, 3901 South Church Street, Roebuck, SC. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, Post Office Box 697, Pacolet, SC 29372.
