Obituary For Harry Russell, Jr.

Harry James Russell, Jr. MOORE, SC-- Mr. Harry James Russell, Jr., of 215 Clematis Court, was born on November 7, 1942 to the late Harry Russell and the late Susie Ann Alexander Russell. On January 26, 2016 Harry peacefully entered into eternal rest at the White Oak Manor Nursing Home. Harry leaves to cherish found and loving memories: his wife, Rosa Massey Russell. He was preceded in death by is his first wife, Mary W. Russell; to this union two children, were born, Yolanda and the late Troy V. Russell, Sr. Harry Russell was a lifelong member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. He was a 1961 graduate of the Carver High School, and a 1984 graduate of Limestone College with a Bachelors Degree in Science. He was a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Mr. Russell was a Veteran of the United States Army for sixteen years. Mr. Russell leaves to cherish his loving memories: his wife, Rosa Massey Russell; a daughter, Yolanda (Frederick) Keenan; five step-children, Wendy Hollis of Spartanburg, SC, Tonya Fowler of Fort Mill, SC, Claressa Rowland of Moore, SC, Kendrick (Kesha) Rowland of Greer, SC , and Ashley Rowland of the home; a brother, Melvin Russell of Staten Island, NY; an aunt, Mattie Kendall of Ohio; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; and one step great grandchild. Mr. Russell was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Ann Russell and Anita Russell and a brother Gerald Russell. Fraternity Rites will be held today, February 3, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard Street, Spartanburg, SC. A Celebration of Life for Harry James Russell, Jr., will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 502 South Daniel Morgan Avenue, Spartanburg, SC 29306. The Reverend Dr. M. Keith McDaniel will officiate. Interment will be at the Lincoln Memorial Gardens. Harry will lie in state one hour prior to the service. The family is at his home and at the home of his daughter, Yolanda (Frederick) Keenan of 165 Lakewood Drive, Spartanburg, SC.
