Obituary For Sandra Massey

Sandra Denise Massey ROEBUCK, SC-- Ms. Sandra Denise Massey, of 100 Happy Lane, was born on a hot summer day, August 17, 1963, as the youngest of twelve children to Mr. Dillard B. Massey and the late Mrs. Annie Rose Fuller Massey. On a cold wintery Sunday morning, January 24, 2016, Sandra peacefully entered into eternal rest at the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Sandra was a member and worshipper at the Foster Chapel Baptist Church. She received her education at Paul M. Dorman High School where she was a 1982 graduate. She studied Criminal Justice (Pre-Law) at Spartanburg Methodist College and Elementary Education at Spartanburg Community College. Sandra was employed by Plejs, in the Pinewood Shopping Center for many years, where she enjoyed serving the people in the community until they went out of business. After Plejs, Sandra found herself still eager to help others by working at Walgreens on John B. White, Sr. Boulevard for many years. In addition to her father, Sandra leaves to cherish her loving memories eleven siblings; Mark (Janie) Massey of Spartanburg, SC, Thomas (Sylvia) Massey, Sr. of Roebuck, SC, Mattie (George) Cohen of Una, SC, Rosa (Harry) Russell of Spartanburg, SC, Mary Wilkins of Spartanburg, SC, Diane (Marshall) Smith of Spartanburg, SC, Carolyn (Roy) Smith of Inman, SC, Jerry (Clara) Massey of Spartanburg, SC, James (Josephine) Massey of Spartanburg, SC, Joe Massey of Spartanburg, SC, and Bobby Massey of the home. She also has a half brother, Van (Phila) Wofford of St. Petersburg, FL. Although Sandra did not have any children of her own, she took great joy in helping to rear 24 nieces and nephews; 40 great nieces and nephews; and 3 great-great nieces and nephews. A Celebration of the Life for Sandra D. Massey will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at the Foster Chapel Baptist Church, 2800 Stone Station Road, Roebuck, SC. The Reverend Dr. Thomas E. Massey, Jr. and The Reverend Dr. Patrick Suber will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Sandra will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
