Obituary For Mary Murphy

Boiling Springs, SC - Mary Alene Murphy was born in Spartanburg, SC on April 1, 1923 to the late Walter and Millie Smith. She answered the call of God and received her heavenly promotion on March 4, 2016 after a brief illness at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. She was the wife of the late James Howard Murphy. Mary Murphy spent most of her life working in the home caring for her late husband and family. She has spent an enormous amount of time pursuing knowledge and revelation from God. Mary accepted the Lord as her personal savior and committed to serving him as Lord of her Life. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: her sister, LeNora Posey of Spartanburg, SC; her eight children, James (Minnie) Murphy, Jr. of Spartanburg, SC, Raymond McCray (Mary) Murphy and Clarence (Gwen) Murphy both of Moore, SC, Mary Ann (Ronald) Johnson of Boiling Springs, SC; Bobby (Tonya) Murphy of Las Vegas, NV, Tommie Allen (Doris) Murphy of Waxhaw, NC, William Marion (LaShawn) Murphy of Ashville, NC and Linda Murphy (Stacey) of Boiling Springs, SC; her nineteen grandchildren; her thirty-four great-grandchildren; her fourteen great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by a son, John David Murphy and a sister, Eleanor Louise Beasley. A Celebration of the Life of Mary Alene Murphy will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Promise Land Christian Discipleship Center, 150 Kensington Dr., Spartanburg, SC. Interment will be in the Shiloh Memorial Gardens, 4040 New Cut Rd., Inman, SC.
