Obituary For Marvin Jeter

Spartanburg, SC - Marvin Dean Jeter, Sr., 70 peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 15, 2016. Mr. Jeter was the son of the late Henry Jeter and Amanda Free. He was the husband of Frances L. Jeter. Mr. Jeter graduated from Foster’s Grove High School, Class of 1965. Marvin was a member of Monks Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Jeter served and retired from the United States Army. He was also retired from Abbot Lab and Michelin Tire. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: his wife, Frances; his son, Marvin Dean, Jr.; his daughter, Detra (Frederick) Lamar Foster; his godson, Trevis T. Harris ; his grandson, Frederick Lamar Foster; his three God-grandchildren, Zaria, Haven and Dyllan; his devoted caregiver, Terry Rice; his siblings, James E. (Kay) Jeter, Virginia R. (Rev. Curtis) Smith, Paul (Lynester) Jeter, Paulline J. Hall and Judy A. Woodruff. Marvin was preceded in death by a daughter, Meica Denise Jeter; two brothers, Daniel Jeter and Johnny L. Jeter; and two sisters, Willie M. Jeter and Irene J. Varner. A Celebration of the Life of Marvin Dean Jeter, Sr. will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Monks Grove Baptist Church, 718 Monksgrove Church Rd., Spartanburg, SC. Reverend Walter Davis will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home, 248 Bondale Dr., Spartanburg, SC.

I am saddened to learn of Marvin's passing. He served with me for many years in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a faithful and a key member of my section and someone whom I depended and he never let me down. My the Lord comfort his family during these days.
