SPARTANBURG, SC - Deacon Sherry Renee Shippy, 52, peacefully entered rest on Tuesday, April 19, 2016. Sherry was the daughter of the late Billy G. Shippy, Sr. and the late Mary H. Shippy. Deacon Shippy was a member of Destiny Baptist Church. Sherry was formerly employed with BMW. Left to cherish fond memories are: her siblings, Robin Shippy, Deanna (Kenneth) Dawkins, April McBeth, Billy G. Shippy, Jr., Edward (Nekima) McBeth, Jakeem (Ebony) Shippy; her nephew reared in the home, Timothy Dawkins; her nieces reared in the home, Brandi Dawkins and Shimia McBeth; her uncle, James Shippy; her aunts, Marie Howard and Jennie Howard McHam; additional nieces and nephews; and additional dear relatives. A Celebration of the Life of Deacon Sherry R. Shippy will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 12:00 noon at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard Street, Spartanburg, SC. Apostle Marquis E. Townes will officiate. Interment will be in Heritage Memorial Gardens, 3901 South Church Street, Roebuck, SC. The family will receive family and friends at the home of Deanna and Kenneth Dawkins, 117 Placid Place, Spartanburg, SC.
