Obituary For Douglas Flournoy, Sr.

Douglas Flournoy, Sr. Mr. Douglas Flournoy, Sr., 73, peacefully entered into eternal rest on September 3, 2016. Douglas was the son of the late Duke and Catherine Flournoy. Mr. Flournoy is survived by: his loving children, Mr. Douglas Flournoy Jr. (Sherry) of Greer, SC, Mrs. Alice Tanner (Bobby Joe) of Spartanburg, SC, Ms. April Flournoy of Spartanburg, SC and Dr. Sekeena Snead of Newport News, VA; 7 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Darlene Flournoy Curtis (Glenn) of Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Mr. Milton Flournoy (Ella) of Atlanta, GA, and Mr. Lynwood Flournoy of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mr. Flournoy was preceded in death by his brothers, Duke Warren Flournoy and James Morris Flournoy; and his sister, Alice Louise Flournoy. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at The J.W. Woodward Funeral Home. A Celebration of the Life of Douglas Flournoy, Sr. will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at The J.W. Woodward Funeral Home, 594 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC. Rev. C.R. Keys, Presiding Elder, Bunton Institutional C.M.E. Church will officiate. Interment will be at Heritage Memorial Gardens with Military Rites, 3901 South Church Ext. Roebuck, SC 29376. J.W.
