Obituary For Andrew Thomas

Andrew Thomas Deacon Andrew Valentine Thomas, 79, of 331 Brown Road, Spartanburg, SC, peacefully transitioned on Sunday, September 4, 2016. He was the son of the late Mr. Major Thomas Sr. and the late Mrs. Ella Mae Hill Thomas; he was married to Mrs. Ola Black Thomas. Left to cherish fond memories are: his four daughters: Mrs. Cynthia T. Nakom, Evang. Vanessa T. Morman, Ms. Pamela T. Sartor, and Ms. Shirley J. Dawkins; two sons: Rev. Dwayne A. (Carrie) Thomas and Mr. Karl Michael Thomas, son-in-law, Solomon L. Nakom; his fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; his six sisters, Mrs. Linda (Elliot) Long, Mrs. Thelma (Roy) Logan, Mrs. Mary T. Gist, Mrs. Joyce (Clarence) Hughes, Mrs. Effie R. Minter, and Mrs. Flora F. Green; his two brothers, Reverend Fred (Belinda) Thomas and Mr. Douglas (Carrie) Thomas; brother-in-law, Mr. Johnny McDowell. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Mount Sinai Baptist Church, 2911 S. Pine St., Spartanburg, SC 29302; the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. There will be musical tributes and a farewell fellowship dinner. Funeral services and burial will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 starting at 11:00 a.m. at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 3105 Jerusalem Rd., Jonesville, SC 29353. J. W. Woodward Funeral Home
