Obituary For Bertha Miller

Campobello, SC - Bertha Maybin Miller was born on July 29, 1917 in Newberry, SC to the late Glenn and Carrie Maybin. She was the widow of Ollie Miller, Jr. Bertha entered eternal rest on Tuesday, October 11, 2016. Mrs. Miller attended the Pleasant Grove Elementary School in Campobello, SC. She was raised in a Christian home on a farm with fifteen other siblings. Bertha retired in the early 1980’s from Mr. Wayne and Mrs. Lynda Hyder. At an early age Mrs. Miller joined and was baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church. She was a faithful servant in various positions and was a founding member of the church. Bertha was “The Mother of the Church” until the present time. She shared her wisdom, love, prayers and made a difference in the many lives she touched. Bertha had a beautiful smile that reached out to everyone she met portraying her sweet and humble spirit. Mrs. Miller enjoyed attending church, listening to The Word, gospel music, cooking and working in her flower garden. She exemplified and represented what a Christian Lady should do and say. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: her daughters, Louvenia Miller and Olivia Miller both of Campobello, SC and Juanita Amaker of Charlotte, NC; her loving sister, Estelle Dye of Detroit, MI; her dear sister-in-law, Charlotte Harper of Ashville, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. A Celebration of the Life of Bertha Maybin Miller will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church, 650 Macedonia Church Rd., Campobello, SC. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Hwy 11, Campobello, SC.
