Obituary For Deacon James Wynn, Jr.,

SPARTANBURG, SC-- Deacon James 'Bud' Wynn, Jr., 69, was born September 4, 1947 to the late Mr. James Wynn, Sr. and the late Mrs. Annie Mae Wright Wynn. He peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. James Wynn, Jr. was affectionately known as 'Daddy Bud'. James was a 1966 graduate of Foster Grove High School. Deacon Wynn was a member of the Harrison Grove Baptist Church where he served as a dedicated deacon for many years. He also previously served as Financial Secretary and Superintendent of the Sunday School. He served as the past president of the Tyger River Association's Brotherhood. He was preceded in death by: his brother, Kenneth Wynn and his sister, Della Singleton. Deacon Wynn leaves behind: his loving wife of 44 years, Kathleen Lee Wynn; his three daughters, Tracy Wynn, Kimberley (Ron) Henderson and Akita Irby; and his son, Douglas Wynn, all of Spartanburg, SC; eight grandchildren: Shatavia, Kristopher, Derek, Kelsi, Justin, Ja'key, Nevaeh, and Ja'keelah; his sister, Emily (Marcellus) Atchison and two brothers, Stanley (Deborah) Wynn and Earnest (Brenda) Wynn, all of Spartanburg, SC; three special sisters-in-law, Annie Irby, Helen Dean and Geraldine Wynn; and a host of nieces and nephews. A Celebration of the Life of Deacon James Wynn, Jr. will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Harrison Grove Baptist Church, 299 Harrison Grove Church Road, Roebuck, SC. The Reverend Dr. Leon C. Rector, Jr. will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Deacon Wynn will lie in state at the church an hour prior to the service. The Wynn family will receive friends at his home, 112 Prospect Ave., Spartanburg, SC.
