Obituary For Jack Dover

Rev. Jack Harold Dover of 5114 Waters Road Cowpens, SC was called from Labor to reward on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at the Palmetto Patriot's Care 120 Hampshire Drive in Gaffney, SC. Pastor Dover was the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Delmus Dover. Pastor Dover received his early childhood education at the old Cowpens School. He continued his high school courses of study at the Benjamin E. Mays Consolidated School in Pacolet Mills, SC. Pastor Dover has lived all his life in Cowpens except for the wo years that he spent in Columbus, Ohio and two years in the Unite Stated Army. During his spare time he organized a rock n' roll group by the name of "Yakety Yaks" which was a very successful venture. He served as a supervisor at Butte and was later promoted to manager. In high school he was known as "Trick Dover" from his coach, Mr. Edward W. Brown. He joined the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church at an early age and participated in all aspects of different ministries. Later in life He was called by God to preach his word and he dedicated the remainder of his life to this great cause.

He will be sorely missed by his loving wife Helen who he affectionately called "Crack". His love for his children will be eternally etched in their hearts until the end of time. His children include. Terrence Dover (deceased); Anthony (Christina). Daughter in law Angie Dover: Grandchildren: Tabitha Goode, Tyler Dover Great Grandchildren: Riley Goode; Sophia Goode; Breeah Dover, Braxton Dover; Maze Birk and Kyler Dover.

The extraordinary, delightful and lengthened life of Rev. Jack Harold Dover came to a peaceful end having completed all of his assignments set before his by his Lord and Savior., Jesus Christ. Rev. Dover heard the voice of Jesus say, "Come unto me and rest. Lay down thy weary one lay down thy head upon my breast." Rev. Dover quietly and submissively went home to receive his rightfully earned respite from his labor on these bonded shores. May he rest in eternal peace and may the peace that surpasseth all understanding rest, rule and abide with him and his loved ones forever.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
