Obituary For Lucille Mayes
Spartanburg, SC - Lucille Y. Mayes, 95 of Redline Ave., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Mayes was the daughter of the late Ben and Versie Young; a native of Chesnee, SC. Lucille was a member of the Gethsemane Baptist Church in Chesnee, SC. She was preceded in death by: her children, Joseph, Edward and Rosemary; her great grandson, Chad Dodd; and her brothers, Fred, Sterling and Barney. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: her daughter, Jeannette Dodd; her two grandchildren, Loretta Dodd of Chesnee, SC and Reese (Rosemary) Dodd of Cowpens, SC; her four great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; her two sisters, Lola Y. Linder and Fannie Burgess of Chesnee, SC; two brothers, Ben (Mattie) Young and Dewitt Young of Chesnee, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. A Celebration of the Life will be held on Lucille Y. Mayes will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Gethsemane Baptist Church, 404 Richland St., Chesnee, SC. The Reverend Floree Copeland will officiate. Interment will be in the Gaffney Chapel, Chesnee, SC.
