In loving memory of Marlene J. Dixon, a woman whose strength and resilience knew no bounds. Born in Pittsburgh, PA to the union of Albert Dixon Sr. & Helen Pettigrew Dixon on August 28, 1944, she journeyed through life with courage and grace until her passing on April 25, 2024, through a natural end, surrounded in peace and love.
Marlene, who shared deep roots in her community, devoted her days to the toil of a laborer in the manufacturing industry, for Wheatland Tube. Her hands built what the mind conceived, and her dedication to her work was a testament to her unwavering spirit. After formally retiring, she spent her days as a retail customer service representative at Walgreen’s Pharmacy.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and perseverance in the hearts of her surviving relatives: her son Pernell (Laura) Dixon, grandson Desmond Dixon, and brothers Wayne Dixon and Albert Dixon, Jr.
Forged in an eternal hope, Marlene was reunited with her parents and sisters Phyliss Friday and Esther Ward who preceded her in death.
It was Marlene’s desire to be remembered in her transition as enjoying a vibrant and fulfilled life. Therefore, it was her expressed request not to have a public viewing or service. Although she may have departed from our lives, but her spirit will forever linger in the minds of those she touched.
The family of Marlene J. Dixon elected to entrust the Ministry of Comfort & Care and Professional After Care Arrangements with the J. E. Washington Funeral Services,1059 Hamilton Ave, Farrell PA, 16121 724.983.1523. Rest in peace, dear Marlene, as you journey on to the next chapter, guided by the love that surrounds you.
