James Reed Banks was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. James passed away on April 20, 2024, at home in peace in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

James graduated from high school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, then decided to travel the World. He met the love of his life, Peggy in York Pennsylvania, where he resided for many years. James was so unique and special that he had his own personal bodyguard, Mr. Christopher McDonald. He was a member of Unity In Christ Church Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.

James loved to laugh and play dominoes. He was a great spades player, he loved music and watching Madea and Heat of The Night.

James was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Louise Banks and father, Raymond Lee Smith. James is survived by his sisters, Toni Scott (Wayne) and Calvett (Sharrod) Brown; nieces, India James, Tonishay Williams and Cordelia Scott; close cousins, Odessa Williams, Tony Williams, Billyette, Jose, Linda and Tyrone Maddox and friends that loved him as family.

His life will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at the Rescue Fire Hall, 3701 N. 6th St., Harrisburg, PA 17110
