Obituary For Beulah Mae Dodd

Spartanburg, SC - Beulah Mae Dodd, 87, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 12, 2017. Mrs. Dodd was the daughter of the late Christine Turner Jackson (Saul Jackson) and Reuben Turner. She was the widow of James T. Dodd, Sr.; a native of Burlington, NC. Mrs. Dodd was a member of First Baptist Church of Fairforest where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, Missionary, Tresurer of the Sunday School, Adult Choir, Bee St. Sympathy Club and Assistant Secretary and Den Mother. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Jeptha Chapter #21. Beulah graduated from Adult Training School (Lincoln High School.) She also attended Spartanburg Technical College. She was a former member District 6 Advisory Board for Fairforest Elementary School. Mrs. Dodd was preceded in death by her two sisters, Laura Mae Turner Simpson and Ella Turner Jackson; and her mother-in-law, Myrtle Copeland Dodd Bernard. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: his son, Army 1st Class Sgt. James T. Dodd, Jr. (U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Alison) of Bealeton, VA; her two daughters, Mary Dodd Porterfield of Irmo, SC and Annie Mae Dodd of the home; her granddaughter reared in the home, Sonya L. Dodd from Rock Hill, SC; her grandchildren, Earl Porterfield, Jr. (Dr. Jacqueline) of Irmo, SC, Marcus Porterfield of Irmo, SC, Tanicka Canty of Greenville, SC, James T. Dodd, III of Fairfax, VA, Nakia Dodd-Feagin (Justin) of CA, Curtis Dodd of NYC, Alisha Dodd of Pasadena, CA and Andre Dodd of Rock Hill, SC; her step grandchildren, Bryan Stiggle of Springfield, VA and Eric Stiggle of Bealeton, VA; her twelve great-grandchildren; her six sisters-in-law, Louise D. Buttler (Homer) of Spartanburg, SC, Betty D. Lloyd Odom (William) and Geneva D. Smith both of Hendersonville, NC, Shirley D. Booker of Taylor, SC, Mary D. Woods (Fred) of Greenville, SC and Sammie G. Dodd of Atlanta, GA; and her brother-in-law, Hershell L. Griffen of Spartanburg, SC. A Celebration of the Life of Beulah Mae Dodd will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Fairforest, 200 Charity Dr., Fairforest, SC. Reverend W. I. Jenkins will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Order of Eastern Star, Jeptha Chapter #21 will conduct rites at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2017 at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends at the home, 107 Gardenia Ln. (Fairforest Community), Spartanburg, SC.
