Obituary For Bessie Mae Floyd

The funeral services for the late Mrs. Bessie Floyd, who departed this life on May 5, 2024 at Pruitt Healthcare in Ashburn, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from the Madison Avenue Church of God by Faith in Ashburn, Georgia. Reverend Dr. Jerone A. Gamble will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia. Mrs. Bessie Mae Wilson Floyd was born on July 20, 1941 in Ashburn, Georgia, to the late Mr. C. W. Wilson and the late Mrs. Mattie Mae Gamble.

Bessie was educated in the Turner County Public School System at that time.

Bessie gave her life to Christ and joined the Mount Zion Church of God Apostolic, where she was the Mother of the Church until her health started to decline. She worked at the West Brothers restaurant for many years, and also worked cleaning homes and housekeeping for various families.

Bessie was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Eddie Frank Floyd, Sr.

Bessie heard the Master’s Call and entered into Eternal Rest on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Pruitt Healthcare in Ashburn, Georgia. Her parents, her husband, Eddie Frank Floyd, Sr., two sons, James Wilson, Milton Wilson, two sisters, Evelina Richardson, Doris Shelton, have all preceded her in death.

Bessie leaves to cherish her memories her grandchildren, Jamie (Jerethea) Wilson, Germaine “Pig” Wilson, Octavius (Lakevia) Burgess, Tromaine (Sandra) Wilson, Latrice Wilson, Patrice Taylor, all of Ashburn, Georgia, Latasha (John) Davis of Tifton, Georgia; nineteen great grandchildren, and a host of great great grandchildren; two special friends, Elder Florine Scott, Mrs. Arther Mae Barron; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
