Spartanburg, SC – Reverend George Downs, Sr. Pastor Emeritus of Ebenezer Baptist Church, loving husband of Mrs. Annette Downs and devoted father, transitioned from time to eternal rest on Thursday, April 13, 2017. A Celebration of the Life of Reverend George Downs will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church at 220 Austin St., Spartanburg, SC. The Reverend Akeem Downs and Dr. Daly Barnes, Jr. will officiate. Interment will be in Lincoln Memorial Gardens, 2310 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC. Reverend Downs will lie in state at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
