Obituary For Curtis Wayne Hardy

Spartanburg, SC - Curtis Wayne Hardy was born at Spartanburg General Hospital in Spartanburg, South Carolina on January 29, 1958. He was the son of Annie Ruth Gary, stepson of Ernest E. Gary and the grandson of the late Irene Hardy Jackson and the late John D.C Jackson. Curtis entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 29, 2017. He married Kimberly Williams in November 1988 and they had one daughter, Joycelyn Curtisha Hardy. Curtis, a native of Inman, South Carolina, was a graduate of Chapman High School Class of 1976 and received an associate degree in Industrial Electronics from Spartanburg Technical College in 1982. Curtis was an employee at Hoechst-Celanese for over 25 years and retired in 2009. He served as a member and deacon of Universal Body of Christ Church. He is survived by his wife, Kimberly; his daughter, Joycelyn; his mother, Annie Ruth Gary; as well as his siblings, Karen Hardy, Clarence Hardy and Terrance Hardy of Inman, SC and Sonya Pulliam of Greensboro, NC; his uncle, aunts, godchildren, numerous cousins and dear friends. Curtis also shared special relationships with each of his brothers and sisters-in-law, Elevelt (Ruby) Kerns of Moore, SC, Vernon (Gladys) Beatty of Spartanburg, SC, Charles (Elaine) Mullins of Cowpens, SC and Rudy (Pamela) McClain of Fayetteville, NC. As an uncle, Curtis had a special place in his heart for each and every one of his nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and especially his buddy, Kelin Kerns. The Family will receive friends at the home, 194 Loblolly Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303 and at the home of his mother, 204 Highland Rd, Inman, SC 29349. Family and friends visitation will be held on Friday, May 5th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Universal Body of Christ Church (UBC), 8800 Asheville Hwy., Inman, SC 29349. The Celebration of the Life of Curtis Hardy will be on Saturday, May 6th at 1:00 p.m. at UBC.
