Obituary For Mrs. Valerie Rodgers

Spartanburg, SC – An angel gained her wings on June 2, 2017, when God called Valerie Annette “Nette” Rodgers, 50, while surrounded by her family. She was born on April 2, 1967 to the union of the late Mr. Alonzo Rogers and Mrs. Mary Emma Littlejohn Rodgers. Valerie was of the Baptist faith. She was a 1985 graduate of Broome High School. Valerie was an employee at Coverington until her health began to decline. Valerie leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to: her husband, Cletis Thomas, Sr.; her sons, Cletis (Lillie) Thomas, Jr. of Gaffney, SC and DyQuan Thomas of the home; her daughters, Jada and Janae Thomas of the home; her granddaughters, Londyn Kennon of the home and Brooklyn Thomas ; her grandson, Jordan Thomas; her sister, Charlotte (RC) Haigler of Spartanburg, SC; her brother, Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Goforth of Boiling Springs, SC; her aunts, Esther Jefferies of Cedartown, GA, Thelma Peake of Jonesville, SC, Betty Jean Rice of Spartanburg, SC and Minnie Scott of Freeport, NY; her uncles, Robert Littlejohn of Cedartown, GA, Rev. Malachi (Bessie) Rodgers, Sr. of Jonesville, SC and James Jefferies, Sr. of Spartanburg, SC; in-laws, Corrine and Thomas Davis, Sr. of Gaffney, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Alonzo and Mary Emma Rodgers; her brothers, Maurice Rodgers, Charles and Carl Goforth; her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Alberta Rodgers; her maternal grandparents, Robert and Sallie Littlejohn. A Celebration of the Life of Mrs. Valerie Annette “Nette” Rodgers Thomas will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 12:00 P.M. at Green Bethel Baptist Church, 3125 Cowpens Pacolet Rd, Spartanburg, SC. The Reverend Mills McHam will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home, 755 Leonard St., Spartanburg, SC.
