Ruby Lee Hicks, 76, passed Thursday, May 9, 2024 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. EST on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Seale, AL with Pastor Lawrence Stephens, officiating. Burial to follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. Visitation will be Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 1 - 5 p.m. EST.
The sunrise of Ruby L. Hicks began on July 28, 1947 in Russell County, AL to the late Willie Evans Jr. and Ida Taylor Evans. God sent for his beloved angel to come be with him on May 9, 2024.
She became a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church on July 11, 2004 where she served as a member on the Pastor Aides Committee and a member of the choir. She attended Mt. Olive High School in Fort Mitchell, AL. She also graduated from Columbus Technical School in 1978 where she earned her certificate in upholstery, and she was a supervisor in the laundry room at Columbus Hilton Hotel.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers: Russell Evans and Willie Evans III, her loving son Michael Lawrence and special niece Jessica Arnold.
Those left to cherish her precious memories are Albert T Hicks, her husband of 27 yrs, five children: Donnie Wilson, Robert (Hanna) Mays, Earnest Lawerence, Carla (Tramaine) Davison, Pierre Hicks and special nephew James Arnold. Eleven grandkids: Candace Wilson, Atrice Gamble, Mikiala, Mikael Mays, Caitlyn, JaKeith Davison, and Tramaine Davison Jr., Ki Ki, Kylani Lawrence, Rasheeda Daniels and Elnora Hicks and four great grandkids. Four siblings: Catherine Evans, Ella Johnson, Virginia Jones, Charles Evans and a very special friend Pat Jones. Two brother in-laws and three sister in-laws. Two uncles Roosevelt (Atlene) Evans and Jimmie (Rosetta) Williams and one aunt Shirley (Willie) Miller and host of family and friends.
