It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lavale Lassiter, whom some of us knew as "Puddin," a beloved father, brother, and uncle, left peacefully on May 3, 2024. Lavale was born on August 27, 1958, at Sydenham Hospital in New York City, to the proud parents of Alvertine Lassiter and Willis Martin Jr. His mother affectionately gave him the nickname Puddin.

Lavale’s journey through life was marked by love, dedication, and a vibrant spirit that touched the hearts of all who loved him. He was a proud graduate of John F. Kennedy High School. He went on to dedicate many years of service to Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company and Access Staffing, where he was respected and valued for his hard work and commitment.

He leaves to mourn his daughter Timika Lassiter-Davis and his son Lavale Lassiter Jr.; his brothers, Leonard Spencer, Kenny Spencer, Melvin Griffin, and BFAM Alexander Ford; his sisters, Barbara Reed, Edris Martin, and Marilyn Martin; his nephews, Shaun Spencer, Denzel Martin, and Marvin Martin; his nieces Shalonda Ross, Sharise Martin, Shakeema Martin, Shakeyna Martin, Reneta Martin, and Valerie Martin; and a host of other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvertine Lassiter and Willis Martin Jr.

I am so blessed to have had you in my life for the good and bad times…Timika

He was a man who made an impression on all those around him. His outgoing personality will be missed…Lavale Jr.
