Obituary For Mrs. Roberta McWhorter Foster

Spartanburg, SC – Mrs. Roberta M. Foster entered eternal rest on Friday, July 28, 2017 after a long illness. Roberta was born in Greenville, SC on May 1, 1927 to the late Mr. Guy McWhorter and Mrs. Rosa Fulton McWhorter. Mrs. Foster was the widow of Albert P. Foster. She was a member of Foster Chapel Baptist Church; she served on the Usher Ministry and the Foster Chapel Senior Ministry. Mrs. Foster was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Roberta Liberty Chapter #133. Mrs. Foster was a graduate of Foster Chapel High School; she attended the Charlotte, NC School of Cosmetology. Roberta was preceded in death by: her husband, Albert P. Foster; her brothers, Sammie L. Dennis, John Henry, J.C. and Russell McWhorter. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: her daughter, Judy (Joseph) Webb, Sr. of Spartanburg, SC; her son, Ronald L. Foster of Spartanburg, SC; her sister, Gladys Miller of Roebuck, SC; her grandsons, Joseph Webb, Jr. and Ronald Foster, Jr.; her four great grandchildren; her four great-great grandchildren. Final Order of Eastern Star Rites will be conducted by Roberta Liberty Chapter #133 on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC. A Celebration of the Life of Roberta M. Foster will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Foster Chapel Baptist Church, 2800 Stone Station Rd., Roebuck, SC. The Reverend Dr. Thomas E. Massey, Jr. will officiate. Mrs. Foster will lie in state on Wednesday from noon until the hour of the service. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Joseph Webb, Sr., 3348 S. Church St. Ext. Spartanburg, SC.
