Stephen Ellis Cox, 73 of Sunset, Texas, passed away Friday, May 10th, 2024 in Decatur, TX.

A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14th, at Sunset Baptist Church, with Jeff Jackson officiating.

Stephen was born July 21st, 1950 to Walter Gail and Peggy Ann (Bates) Cox. As a young man he was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Sunset. He graduated from Alvord High School in 1968, and later went to work alongside his father in the wholesale tree business. He then went to work as a car salesman in Grapevine for many years, where he was always top performer

He is preceded in death by his father, W.G. Cox, and brothers Russell Cox and Lawrence Cox.

Stephen is survived by his mother, Peggy Cox of Sunset; siblings, William Joe Cox of Wichita Falls, Carolyn “Sissy” Lampkin of Bowie, TX, and Randall Lee Cox and wife Jeanette of Alvord, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
