Dorothy Tuell Jefferson, 73, of Richmond, was called home on May 15, 2024 to be with the Lord. Dorothy one of seven children, was born on September 6, 1950 in Emporia Virginia to the late David and Josie Tuell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cephas Jefferson and a sister, Fannie Tuell Smith. Dorothy was a member of Little Shiloh Baptist Church where she served as an officer, and a member of the Junior Choir.
Dorothy graduated from Edward Wyatt High School in 1968. After graduating, she relocated to Richmond, Virginia where she was employed with the Commonwealth of Virginia. She attended J. Sergeant Reynolds and Virginia Commonwealth University, and later attended Moseley-Flint School of Real Estate, and became a licensed realtor. In January 2006, Dorothy retired from the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Devin Jefferson; stepson, Bryon Jefferson (Cynthia); two step-grandchildren, Alaina and Alyssa Jefferson; four sisters, Stacey Tuell, Dianne Goode, Louvenia Spinks and Josephine Banks; one brother, Jeronald Tuell (Dawnne); two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd, where viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2024. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 30, at Scott's Chapel, 116 E. Brookland Park Blvd. Rev. Ricardo L. Brown, officiating. Interment Roselawn Memory Gardens.
