Obituary For William Borden Velasco Jr.

Mr. William Borden Velasco Jr. age 83, of New Hampshire Circle Clinton, joined his Heavenly Father on May 15, 2024 at the Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont in Greenwood SC.

Mr. William Borden Velasco Jr., age 83, of New Hampshire Circle Clinton SC, was born on October 02,1940 to William and Beatrice Velasco. Bill was raised with his brothers and sisters and was educated in New York City. This is where his career began in the Civil Service industry; serving for thirty years with the New York Police Department.

He served as a Police Officer for both Spartanburg and Laurens Counties before retiring. He had many other odd jobs along the way that filled his days with purpose.

In 1990; Bill Velasco met his Queen -Ruby Taylor and for the next 30 years they enjoyed life together with their children. They worshipped and served as members of the Friendship AME Church Family in Clinton, SC. He enjoyed this fellowship and ministry until his health declined. He was most proud of his position as the Past Worshipful Master of Constellation Lodge #3 for many years.

His infectious smile will be missed by all: His lovely wife Ruby, sons: William Velasco, Sherman D. Fowler and George Fowler Jr.; daughters: Beatrice Velasco, Sharon F. Mabry, and Felita Fowler; one brother: Richard (Dorothy) Velasco brothers in law Charlie (Beverly) Taylor and Robert Taylor; sisters in law: Nettie Taylor, Rita (Curtis) Henderson, Geraldine Taylor, Cynthia Adams, and Anita (Heng) Thong and a host of loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces family and friends.
