Mr. Billy Thomas Miller, Jr. passed away unexpectedly on May 14, 2024 at the age of 58. He was born on November 28, 1965 to his mother Shirley Foster Miller and father, Billy T. Miller, Sr.
Billy graduated from Boiling Springs High School. While at Boiling Springs, Billy enjoyed football more than the classroom. At the junior high level, Billy earned the All-Conference Defensive Lineman award in 1980 and The Best Offensive Player in 1980-81. When he moved to the high school, Billy continued to be a valuable part of the football family.
Our family is devastated by Billy’s unexpected passing. His death is a huge loss for all of us and he will be forever missed. While a man of few words, Billy always seemed to know how to make you feel special. He was born with a heart of gold and a sense of humor that included an uncanny ability to make you laugh at yourself. He could always be counted on to lend a helping hand when needed and has probably help move everyone in the family at least once.
Being a true Southern boy, Billy was a big outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and tinkering with his lawn mower. For the past 20 years, Billy has run a lawn service in the Upstate, caring for the lawns of countless customers, family members, neighbors and friends. Billy worked a variety of jobs, including various manufacturing plants in the Upstate, the Department of Corrections, and at the Mercedes Plant in Charleston. Lest we forget, Billy enjoyed a good meal, especially with those he loved.
Billy was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Jean, father, Billy T. Miller, Sr; and mother, Shirley Foster Miller, losses he carried with him. Billy leaves behind his beloved son, Brian Thomas Edgar Miller; sister, Karen Miller (Sterling); brothers, Richard “Rick” Peak, Darren Butler; sisters, Alisa Peak, Ella Walker; special niece, Kalin Miller; great-nephew, Legend Miller; and a long list of deeply-saddened aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends.
We can all find solace in knowing he is now reunited with his mom, whom he loved dearly. What a joyous reunion it must have been for them both!
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Ridgeville Baptist Church, Inman, SC. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
