Mr. Michael "Mike" Johnson Obituary

Michael “Mike” Johnson, age 54 of Atlanta, GA departed this life Tuesday night, May 7, 2024 in the Emory Healthcare Hospital. He was a native of Maxton, NC. Mike joined the Army after graduating from West Robeson HS in 1988. He served in the Army during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm and received a Certificate of Appreciation for Outstanding and Dedicated Service. He received an honorable discharge in September 1991. Mike attended ECPI, Greensboro, NC where he received his Certification in Medical Coding and Billing and went on to work at Duke Medical Center, Moses Cone, and Northside Hospital just to name a few. Mike was a kind and generous individual who was loved by his family, friends, and community. He will be sorely missed. Mike is survived by his children: Kiona, Kyree, Mikiyah and Kendall, his mother Cynthia Johnson, one sister Heather and one Brother Kory.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 11:07am at St. George UMC, 501 E Dr MLK Jr Drive, Maxton, NC 28364.
