Linda Faye Jackson Hammett

MRS. LINDA FAYE JACKSON HAMMETT – Age 77, of Dalton, Georgia passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024. She was born March 23, 1947 in Dalton, Georgia to her late parents, father, Walter Melvin Jackson, Sr. and mother, Florence Louise Parks Jackson. She was a member of Bethel A. M. E. Church and attended Crosspointe Christian Center until her health declined. She was a Housekeeper for many years and later was employed as a Kitchen Manager by Bojangles where she worked for 35 years and was affectionately known as “Granny” to staff and customers. She enjoyed cooking, watching westerns and soap operas, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with her beloved family. She is preceded by her brothers, Melvin Jackson, Walter Jackson, Jr., Ralph Jackson, Garry Jackson, Sr., and special friend, Robert Henderson.

She is survived by her loving children, Steven Allen Jackson, Donald Dewayne Hammett, Angela (Randall) Johnson; grandchildren, Marquis (Lindsey) O’Neal, Latrell Teague, Latasha Teague, Morris (Raven) O’Neal, Katie Jackson, Asia Johnson, Alli Johnson all of Dalton, GA; eleven great grandchildren; brothers, Larry Jackson of Cleveland, TN, Ronald (Janie) Jackson, Lane (Reba) Jackson; sister, Carol Jackson; special daughter in law, Jewell Jackson; sisters-in-law, Wanda Jackson, Juanita Boykins, Mary Hammett; goddaughter, Cecilia Thompson; aunt, Fleta Parks; host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral Service will be Friday, May 24, 2024 at 2:00 P. M. at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Edward Hoggs, Eulogist and Senior Pastor Stan Lester, Presider. She will lie in state at the funeral home on Thursday, May 23, 2024 beginning at 11:00 A. M. with the family to receive friends from 6:00 P. M. – 7:30 P. M. Internment; West Hill Cemetery.
