Deacon Nipper, a retired Sergeant First Class, proudly served 21 years in the United States Army, demonstrating unwavering dedication and loyalty to his country. Beyond his military service, he was a devout Christian and an exemplary family man who deeply cherished and loved his family. Deacon Nipper transitioned home on May 19, 2024. He was born to the late George and Fannie Mae Nipper in Trenton, South Carolina.

For over 50 years, Deacon Nipper faithfully served Hosannah Baptist Church as a Deacon, becoming a cornerstone of spiritual guidance and support. His commitment extended beyond the church walls and into the broader community, where his compassionate nature left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He also spent 23 years as an entrepreneur and businessman with his brother-in-law, James Kendrick, at Augusta Blueprint and Microfilm, Inc.

George Nipper, Jr. was also known for his passions outside of service. He was an avid golfer, finding tranquility and joy on the greens. Additionally, he was a talented artist, expressing his creativity through his works, which brought beauty to many lives.

As we celebrate the life of Deacon George Nipper, Jr., we remember a man of dignity, faith, and immense love. He leaves behind a legacy of service, compassion, and creativity that will endure in the hearts of all who knew him. Loved ones left to cherish George's memories are his devoted and loving children: Anthony (Veronica) Nipper, Sr. of Hephzibah, Georgia, Nechelle (Marco) Sharpe of Atlanta, Georgia, and Soongheei (Benny) Voigt of Denmark; grandchildren: Lance (Veniece) Strahan, Jiketha (Jace) Gatewood, Christopher Strahan, Anthony (Monique) Nipper, Jr., Andre Nipper, Kennedy Sharpe, Halee Sharpe, Tyreek Harris, Isaiah Grim, Jaela Grim, Jordan Grim, Monique Strahan, Christopher Strahan Jr., Aysjah Strahan, Yijah Strahan, Torrin Strahan, Anthony Nipper III, Alijah Nipper and Michelle Voigt. He is also survived by his siblings: Hayward Nipper, John Nipper, Joe Louis (Julia) Nipper, Mable Nipper Lavendar and Mildred (James) Nipper Kendrick. Additionally, he leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and close friends.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 24th, from 3 pm to 5 pm, at Kinsey & Walton. A Memorial service will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Friendship Baptist Church, 2543 Deans Bridge Road. Interment, Mt. Olive Memorial Gardens.
