Mrs. Mattie Bell Williams, 89, of Gadsden, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

She is survived by his loving family.

Mrs. Mattie Bell Williams was born to Emma Jane Ford Hudgins and Marion Mostella, in Ashville, Al on May 24, 1934. She confessed her life in Christ at an early age and later joined First Baptist Church of Alabama City. There she served over 60 years under the leadership of Rev. John Woods and was a pivotal member. She was a faithful caregiver for over 75 years, she also served at the Baptist Mission for 40 years. If you knew Ms. Mattie, you knew her by her love for style; she loved her hats, purses, and everything red!

On Tuesday, May 21, 2024, God sent his angel to guide her safely home.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Williams; daughter Ethel Lee Ash; sisters Eula Henley and Sally Gibbs; and grandparents Lewis Ford and Sally Ford.

She leaves to cherish her stepson, Earnest Williams; Son In Law, Tommy Lee Ash; her very special little girls Sloane Mostella and MaKenzie Williams; her brother Austin Hudgins; Aunts Jimmie Young of Attalla, AL., Ann Ponder of Chicago, IL.; Uncle Johnny Elois Ford of Ashville, AL., Special nephews Thomas Mostella and Roderich Thompson; Special Niece Evangeline Mostella Clay; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Public Viewing will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024 from 12noon-6pm.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 12noon at First Baptist Church of Alabama City.
