Albert J. Kalin

03/22/1953 - 05/19/2024

Beloved and known for his wicked sense of humor, Albert J. Kalin of Youngstown, OH, born on March 22, 1953, to the union of Andrew Kalin and Anna Bell-Kalin in Atlantic City, NJ, has left this earthly realm on May 19, 2024, surrounded by the love and presence of his family.

Throughout his years, Albert touched the lives of many with his charm and wit, leaving a lasting impact on those who knew him. A retired supervisor of casino games at Bally's in Atlantic City, Albert lived a life filled with laughter and joy.

In life, he shared fifty-one incredible years with his soulmate and bride, Katheryn Kalin, and together they raised and nurtured two wonderful daughters, Jennifer Pimentel and Heather Diaz.

Albert’s legacy will be upheld by his six grandsons, whom he cherished dearly. He was also blessed to hold within his arms his two great granddaughters. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his two sisters Georgeanna Mahon and Kimberly Kalin.

Albert was welcomed to his new heavenly residence by his parents and brother, Andrew Kalin, Jr.

With his humous approach to life and death, Albert openly expressed to his family his desire to “go from the freezer to the oven” opting for an immediate private cremation ceremony without any public gatherings on his behalf. It is his hope that his memory will remain embedded in the hearts and minds of those who loved and knew him dearly.

As we bid farewell to a cherished faithful husband, loving father, supportive brother, and loyal friend, let us remember Albert for the light and laughter he brought into the lives of many. May Albert rest in peace, knowing that his spirit lives luminously in the memories we hold dear.

At this most intimate time, the beloved family of Albert J. Kalin elected to entrust the Ministry of Comfort & Care and After-Care Arrangements to the J. E. Washington Funeral Services, 2234 Glenwood Ave., Youngstown OH 330.782.8500

Albert lived and died on his own terms, giving meaning to the lyrics of Frank Sinatra’s signature finale, “MY WAY!”

… And now, the end is near

And so I face the final curtain

My friend, I'll say it clear

I'll state my case, of which I'm certain

I've lived a life that's full

I traveled each and every highway

And more, much more than this

I did it my way

… Regrets, I've had a few

But then again, too few to mention

I did what I had to do

And saw it through without exemption

I planned each charted course

Each careful step along the byway

And more, much more than this

I did it my way

… Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew

When I bit off more than I could chew

But through it all, when there was doubt

I ate it up and spit it out

I faced it all, and I stood tall

And did it my way

… I've loved, I've laughed and cried

I've had my fill, my share of losing

And now, as tears subside

I find it all so amusing

To think I did all that

And may I say, not in a shy way

Oh, no, oh, no, not me

I did it my way

… For what is a man, what has he got?

If not himself, then he has naught

To say the things he truly feels

And not the words of one who kneels

The record shows I took the blows

And did it my way

… Yes, it was my way!!!
