Mr. Ivory Lee Jackson

01/24/1940 - 05/16/2024

On May 16, 2024, in the midst of the day, our loving Heavenly Father decided to pluck another rose from His garden of love. With loving hands, He plucked Ivory Lee “Bud” Jackson, who was born January 24, 1940, in Moscow, Tennessee, to Frank and Mamie Jackson. The family relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, settling in the Dixie Heights Community where he attended Hamilton High School.

As a young man, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior. In his later years, he attended Sunday School and services at Kingdom Center Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Robert West.

Ivory worked for Loomis Fargo from December 29, 1969, through May 1, 2003, when he retired. He was also known as “Bud Jackson,” an avid dancer and roller skater. His hobbies were lawn care, guitar playing, and calling WDIA to recognize everybody’s birthday. His favorite saying when talking about his birthday was, “Ain’t nothing but a blessing.” He also loved to listen to J.O. Patterson sing, “The Lord Will Make A Way.”

Many fond memories of Ivory will be cherished by his dear friend, Alice Agnew; two children, Patrice Curtis and Keith Jackson; two grandchildren, Jermaine and Jarrod; four great-grandchildren, siblings, Alderee (John), Girlee (Press), Sharon (Harold), Michael, and Pamela (Shawn); sister-in-law, Jearlean Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Ivory “Bud” was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Thomas (Tim) and Frank Jr., and his sisters, Alice, Marjorie and Debora.
