James Alva Elston Jr., 74 of Bowie, TX, passed away Friday, May 24, 2024.

James was born June 25, 1949 in Fort Worth, TX to James Alva Jr. and Mary Frances (Charles) Elston. He worked as a police officer in both Texas and Arkansas. On February 9th, 2009 James married Mary Ann Bowman. He enjoyed gun collecting and talking on CB and Ham Radios, his handle was 007.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

James is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Elston of Bowie; stepchildren, Dasie Bowman of Wichita Falls and Robert Bowman of Bowie; sisters-in-law, Rose and Susie Roberts of Bowie; and a host of friends.

Family has chosen arrangements with direct cremation, arrangements entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie, TX.
