Domonique “Dee Dee” Carpenter danced her way into the world on September 22, 1980, to her proud parents Eddie “Mane” Wade and Sarah Carpenter-Owens. The youngest of the Carpenter girls, “Dee Dee” as she was called, was known as the quiet one but also the life of the party.

Dee-Dee was baptized at the age of eleven at Thomas Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. HP Sandridge Jr., where she remained until her death. After graduating from Northside High School in 1998, she pursued her career with the Shelby County Assessors Office where she remained. DeeDee also started a part time job at Five Guys which she only wanted to work through the Christmas holidays but ended up loving the job and stayed there as well. Dee Dee, had a passion for tennis shoes in which you would always catch her in a pair no matter the occasion.

Dee Dee, danced her way into heaven on Monday, May 20, 2024. She leaves to cherish her memories her parents Eddie (Mane) Wade, her mother Sarah Carpenter-Owen and bonus dad John (Tookie) Owens. She also leaves one daughter, Corteria (Markeith) and two sons Courtney and Kendarius, her long-time companion LeKendric Castion. Dee Dee leaves three stepsons Lekerien, Lekendric and D’kari and three grandchildren, Markeith, Brayden and Kyir. She leaves behind her sisters who were truly her best friends, Laquita, Sharika and Natoria Carpenter, Carla Bryant and Wanda Jones, Krystal Anderson, Lakendria and Jasmin Robertson and one stepsister Shazonya Owens. She leaves one brother Terrell Robertson. Dee Dee leaves behind two uncles Randolph Carpenter and James (Bubba) Wade, four aunts Joyce Cheairs, Gloria, Mildred and Mae Wade. Her two Godbrothers Herbert and Marico Harvey, two God sisters Vandra Parks and Toia Harvey-Bean, two God daughters Kenneisha Moses and Taylor White. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews to cherish the memories.

Her grandparents Ossie and Charlie Wade, and Raymond Williams and Maggie Carpenter preceded her in death, she had one nephew Braylon Murray to precede her in death as well.

Dee Dee family has scheduled a public viewing for Friday May 31, 2024 from 4:00 until 6:00pm at R. S. Lewis Funeral Home 3651 Austin Peay Hwy. Service of celebration will be 1:00pm Saturday June 1, 2024 at Hill Chapel Missionary Baptist Church 4523 Raleigh Lagrange Rd. Entombment will follow at Memphis Memory Gardens Cemetery 6444 Raleigh Lagrange Rd.
