Obituary For Margaret Ann Ballew Varner

Margaret Ann Ballew Varner 64,of Spartanburg, South Carolina entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 after a courageous fight with a long illness. Mrs. Varner was the daughter of the late Margie L. Ballew and Floyd Gaffney. Margaret joined Mt. Zion Baptist church at an early age; she was a member of the choir. She graduated from Spartanburg High School, Class of 1973. Margaret received an Associate Degree from Spartanburg Technical College in Horticulture. Mrs. Varner worked at Monsanto/MEMC as a machinist. She was also an auto detailer. Margaret was an avid hunter, fisher, bowler, tennis player and band singer. She was preceded in death by: her sister, Hattie B. Wright. Survivors include: her husband, Jesse Varner; her brother, Willie (Cynthia)Ballew; and a host of nieces and nephews. A Celebration of the Life of Margaret Ann Ballew Varner will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC. Reverend James Patton will officiate. Burial will be in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens, 2310 Cannons Campground Rd., Drayton, SC. The family will receive friends Friday, May 11, 2018 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at home of her nephew and niece, Charles and Dana Ballew, 133 Stribling Cir., Spartanburg, SC J. W. Woodward Funeral Home
