Josephine Kemp

Passed 05/30/2024

On Thursday evening, May 30, 2024, at 8:11 p.m., the death angel visited and took home for eternal rest a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend: Mrs. Josephine Kemp.

She was born February 27, 1958 to the late Cleveland Jackson and Clara Mitchell Sapp in Waynesboro, Georgia.

At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal savior, and was baptized at Phillip Grove Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. She later moved her membership and continued serving the Lord.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Bobbie Kemp, who preceded her in death. This union was blessed with two children. Josephine was preceded in death, by her parents, her step - father, George Sapp, Jr., and siblings Cleveland Jackson, Jr, Marie Jackson, Emma Jackson, and Lorene Jackson.

Josephine believed in living life to the fullest and surely will be missed. She made her mark on the world and each life that she touched. She would want this day to be celebrated and commemorated in true “Josephine” style, filled with the joy that only she could bring.

She leaves to cherish her memories: loving children: Bobbie (Johnny) Hayward and Lorenzo (Crystal) Kemp; nephew who was more like a son: Willie “Reco” Jackson, granddaughter: Jaycie; grandsons: Jaylon, Lorenzo II, Reginald, and Tristan; sisters: Alice (John) Ford, Annie (Ronnie) Bennett, Carolyn Jackson, Melody Jenkins, Annie Webb; brothers: Alvin (Annette) McCollough, Jake (Barbara) Jackson, Clarence Jackson, Larry Jackson, Cail (Nancy) Jackson, Alphonso (Jennifer) Sapp, Leroy (Debbie) Lewis; other siblings; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00am, Monday, June 10, 2024, at Kinsey & Walton Funeral Home, 3618 Peach Orchard Road. (706) 790-8858
