The Reverend Margaret C. Hines

THE REVEREND MARGIE C. HINES first saw the light of day on December 15, 1957, in Rutherfordton, NC. She peacefully surrendered time for immortality at her home on the evening of May 31, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Rev. Hines was the daughter of the late Lois Moore Hill and Robert Bridges, both of Rutherfordton, NC. She was married to James F. Hines for 28 years.

Rev. Hines was full of joy and laughter which she shared wherever she travelled. She enjoyed working in the yard, thrift store shopping, spending time with family and painting. She was employed for 30+ years as a housekeeper.

The Reverend Margie Hines was a great woman of faith and served in ministry for 25 years. She retired as an active minister from the Blue Ridge Conference of A. M. E. Zion Church on last year. She served faithfully at the Zion Grove A.M.E. Zion Church as a member of the Ministerial Staff, Adult Sunday School teacher, and wherever she could be of any assistance. Her joy was found in the faces of the children as she would bring them surprises often. She valued education and graduated from the Hood theological Seminary with a Certificate in Religious Training.

Rev. Hines was preceded in death by one son, Shawn Dean Hamilton: two sisters, Brenda Edgerton and Carolyn Edgerton, and one brother, David Hill.

She leaves to cherish her memories are: her husband, Mr. James F. Hines of Forest City, NC; one daughter, Gwynne Hamilton of Charlotte, NC; one son, Aaron (Elaine) Hamilton of Hodges, SC; five grandchildren, Trevon Hamilton of Charlotte, NC; Alex J. Hamilton of Texas; Rashead T. Hamilton of Forest City, NC; Jamaica S. Washington of Charlotte, NC; Marsean S. Hamilton of Rutherfordton, NC; two sisters, Linda Kelly and Brenda Edgerton of Rutherfordton, NC; two brothers, Tommy Hill of Forest City, NC, and Terry Davis of Rutherfordton, NC; two step-grandsons, Darikus Bussey, Easley, SC, and O’Darius Duncan of Greenwood, SC, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She adored her great-granddaughter Kaliyah N. Hamilton of Charlotte, NC and her best friend for life was Mrs. Margie Forney of Rutherfordton, NC.
