Ms. Felicia Mignon Ewings

Passed 06/06/2024

Felicia Mignon Ewings, our funny, witty and loving daughter, mother, sister. aunt, cousin and friend was born October 1, 1966, in High Point, NC to James and Barbara Crawford Ewings, and peacefully gained her wings at her home in High Point on June 6, 2024. Felicia was predeceased by her grandparents, Rembert and Della Gaddy Crawford and Oliver Dee and Christine Thompson Ewings; and a host of Crawford and Ewings uncles.

With the biggest heart and friendly spirit, she could forge a conversation wherever she was, no one was a stranger, and you would feel her love when you met. She was so charismatic and an allĀ-around loving person. Whether speaking to her for 5 seconds or 5 minutes, during the conversation, you were going to hear about her precious baby girl, one of her greatest accomplishments in life, her Kitty.

She graduated from Trinity High School and Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in marketing. Felicia was one of the founding charter members for the campus' Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority (AKA) in 1987.

A woman of faith, she often spoke of her love for the Lord, and how happy she would be when she got to her mansion in heaven.

You could see how Christ lived in her by the way she served and treated others with unconditional love and compassion. Professionally, she was a merchandise coordinator at Kreber, and a customer service representative at H & R block. She loved any job that allowed her to help people. But she loved being a substitute teacher for 3rd and 5th grades most. She loved those students as if they were her own and cherished hearing the students say, "I love you, Miss Felicia." It was known around school that Miss Felicia was the fun teacher.

She was so much to so many. A nurturer, comforter, confidant, encourager and dear friend to many, including her best friend and ride-or-die partner, Cheryl Steed, or as she preferred to call her, Cheryl Jean (her middle name).

She is survived by her beautiful daughter, Katherine Kitty" Puryear, her loving parents, James and Barbara Crawford Ewings, sister, Pamela Ewings, niece, Alanna Carter, nephew, Major Carter, aunts, Bonnie Crawford, Artmisha (Paul) Johnson; uncle Dr. James G. Crawford, a host of relatives and friends, and her precious cats, Lovey and Sparkle.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 3:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
