Mr. Jimmy E. Walker, 78, passed Sunday, June 9, 2024 in Phenix City, AL.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. EST, Monday, June 17, 2024 at Franchise Missionary Baptist Church, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Adrian Chester, officiating. Burial to follow in Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. Public visitation will be on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. EST.

Jimmy Earl Walker, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home on June 9, 2024 at the age of 79. Born in Harris County, Georgia to the late Jimmy Walker and Mittie Anna Dozier Walker on June 14, 1945. Jimmy lived a life full of laughter, friendship, and love that will be cherished forever by his family and friends.

Jimmy served his country with honor and distinction in the Vietnam War. His time serving in the US Army instilled in him a profound sense of discipline and dedication that would shape the rest of his life. Following his honorable discharge from the military, Jimmy pursued his passion for working on tactical and combat vehicles by becoming a diesel mechanic. His skills and expertise were unparalleled, and he became known as a trusted and reliable professional in his field. He retired from Penske Truck Rental in 2007.

In retirement, mornings were spent at Krystal's with his retired friends Ken, Robert, Bailey, Mr. Hall and Bennie Washington sharing laughter and fellowship over breakfast. He cherished fishing trips with his daughter and son-in-law. Spending time with his grandson, Deuce tinkering with his truck and sitting on the porch watching him mow the lawn. Also, driving grandson, Daniel to and from practices and them watching television together at night. Jimmy had a monthly lunch date with his wife and their friends. Being the only man in the group never bothered him. These moments of fellowship and connection made his retired years truly fulfilling.

Jimmy served as both a deacon and trustee at Franchise Missionary Baptist Church, embodying the values of faith, compassion, and service. Jimmy's commitment to his church was unwavering, and he approached his roles with humility, integrity, and a deep sense of responsibility.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy Walker and Mittie Anna Dozier Walker; sister, Edna Whitaker and brother, Roy Walker.

Jimmy will be deeply missed by his loving family, including his wife of 56 years Belinda Walker; daughter, Michelle (Morius) Perryman; two grandsons, Morius “Deuce” Perryman II and Daniel Walton, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Noelle A. Perryman; two sisters, Mittie (Andy) Birt and Inez Carson; one brother; Willie (Tracey) Walker; aunt, Ruby Dozier, special cousin-in-law, Peggy Ann Hill and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Though he may no longer be with us, his legacy of hard work, kindness, and friendship will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
