Patricia Ann Curry, a cherished soul and beloved missionary, was born on October 11, 1959, in Indianola, Mississippi, to Mary Grace and Dudley Grace. She peacefully transitioned from labor to reward on June 3, 2024. Patricia's journey through life was one marked by love, faith, and unwavering dedication to those she held dear.
Patricia was a bright and active student at Gentry High School in Indianola, MS, where she excelled on both the track and swimming teams. After graduating, she moved to Chicago, IL, to embark on new adventures and opportunities. Her strong work ethic and leadership skills led her to a successful career as a store manager at Learners.
In Chicago, Patricia found her spiritual home at Lilydale Progressive Missionary Baptist Church under the guidance of Pastor Romell Williams Jr. Her passion for serving others blossomed here, and she became a beloved missionary, known for her kindness, dedication, and unshakable faith. Patricia’s profound love for God and her commitment to spreading His word defined her life and work. She dedicated countless hours to missionary work, touching lives with her compassionate heart and unwavering devotion to her faith.
Patricia's personal life was equally blessed. She shared 44 wonderful years with her devoted husband, Earl Curry, who survives her along with her beloved mother, Mary Grace. Patricia's legacy is carried on by her extensive and loving family, including her mother-in-love, Ester Curry; her sisters Christine Henry (Irving), Rosie Lee Grace, Odester Smith, Delores Grace, Brenda Johnson (Jimmy), Linda Ervins (Walter), Pamela Clark, Barbara Grace, and Rochelle Grace. She also leaves behind her beloved aunties, Fannie Shields, Lillian Collins, Rose Marie Collins, and Doretha Anderson. Her Aunt Fannie was a constant source of support and affection throughout her life along with her husband Rev. Shields. She is predeceased by her dear sister Debra Grace and her father Dudley Grace.
Patricia was a proud and loving mother to her children: Kenyon Grace, Bobby Grace, Crystal Grace, Rayeya Lindsey, Lacresha Grace, Dr. Pearl Pugh (Terrence), Dudley Grace, Nefateria Grace, and Jairus Clark. Her joy and pride extended to her grandchildren: Kaleb, Bryone, Jewel, Pamela, Kamani, Peyton, Dudley Jr., Marissa, Tahj, King Jr., Rayna, Donovan, Tycen, Raine, and Neriah (Ryda-Mae). She leaves to cherish, very close friends, Brenda Booker, Debra Bradley, and Theola Harvey (Terry), who were integral parts of her life.
