In Macon, Georgia, Mother Betty Williams gave birth to Michael Williams on June 16, 1958. He was the third child of five siblings, his older sisters: Diane Scott, Cherlyn L. Kellan and two younger brothers: Donnie Williams and Terrance Williams.
Michael accepted Christ at an early age at Ross St. Baptist Church. He attended B.S. Ingram Grammar School Central High School for 8th grade and Southwest High School for 9th-12th grade. He graduated in 1976 and worked at Wesleyan College until 1977.
He later went to Virginia with Velma Pope and worked at the Homestead Hotel and Resort in 1977. In 1982, he moved to Wichita, KS, but it got too cold in December, and he went back to Virginia on December 23, 1983. In 1984, he moved back to Wichita, KS and got a job with the I.R.S. in September. He later got transferred to St. Louis, MO for the I.R.S. in 1997. He played music and worked at the I.R.S. until he retired in 2015.
In 2001, Michael started playing golf. He played tournaments sometimes and won, but in 2021 he retired from playing due to an illness. In June of 2017, he moved to Warner Robins, GA. He begun to play the keyboard at New Renaissance Memorial Baptist Church in 2020. He played the bass guitar at Grant’s Lounge with Johnny Hollingshed in 2020 until the pandemic. He loved his sisters and his entire family and all his friends in Georgia, Virginia, Kansas, and Missouri.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Williams; grandmother, Louise Atwater; and his great grandmother, Ardelia Williams.
He leaves behind two sisters: Diane (Isaiah) Scott and Cherlyn L. Kellam; two brothers: Donnie Williams and Terrance Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends that are lovely bonded to his heart.
