A light that shone brightly on March 31, 1959, in Hernando, MS has gently faded away on June 11, 2024, in Youngstown, OH, as Carolyn Annette Christian peacefully departed this world. She was the adored daughter of Robert White and Ethel Mitchell -White.

An empathetic soul, Carolyn dedicated her life to caring for others. She served patents at the ministry of Mercy Health, touching the lives of countless individuals with her kindness and compassion. Carolyn had the gifting of helpfulness, willing to assist wherever she was needed.

Carolyn found joy in her work and took pride in her family. She will be remembered for her creativity. She enjoyed creating and producing, which was evident in her passion for gardening, sewing and crafting projects.

Carolyn was a member of the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church and at the time of her passing was assisting the First Lady with a Roaring 20’s event for the Senior Ministry at the church.

She leaves behind her beloved daughter Dashayla (Ladarius Walton) Christian, son Marvin (Yolanda Cross) Stigall, brother Timothy (Debbie) White and sisters Sharon White, Bridgette (Vincent) Clinkscale. She was blessed with three amazing grandchildren Maurion Stigall, Peyton Stigall, Autumn Stigall who will proudly uphold her legacy.

As she crossed the celestial shores, she was welcomed by her parents and her brother Walter Jones, all who preceded her into eternity.

Let us remember Carolyn not with tears of sorrow, but with smiles of gratitude for the love and joy she brought to our lives. May she rest in peace knowing she was cherished by all who knew her.

Though Carolyn may no longer walk among us, the memories of her laughter and warmth will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the public viewing, to be held in the chapel of the J E Washington Funeral Home, 2234 Glenwood Ave., in Youngstown on Monday June 17, 2024, from 5:00-6:00 pm.

A memorial service will be held at the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, 1210 Himrod Avenue, Youngstown on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 11:00am and will be officiated by Rev. J. Dwayne Heard.

A final farewell and celebration of life service will take place for Carloyn on Saturday June 29 at 11:00 am at the Brown Missionary Baptist Church 980 Stateline Rd E. Southhaven MS where Pastor Kevin White will preside as the celebrant. Carolyn will be placed alongside her parents at the Greenview Memorial Garden Cemetery Nesbit, MS, where she will find eternal rest.
