Rev. Roy Alphonso Carter, of Henrico, peacefully transitioned June 16, 2024, surrounded by his family. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Evelyn T. Carter; children, Roy A. Carter, Jr. and Pamela C. Johnson; grandson, Devin A. Johnson; two great-granddaughters, Amiya Johnson and Amora Johnson; two brothers, Roland Carter (Barbara) and Dennis Carter; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. where viewing will be held from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2024 followed by the family receiving friends from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Scott's Chapel, 116 E. Brookland Park Blvd. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 24 at St. Peter Baptist Church, 2040 Mountain Road, Glen Allen. Dr. Kirkland R. Walton eulogist.
