On Tuesday, June 18th, 2024, Wayne Collier transitioned to eternal life.
A graduate of Valdosta High School in Valdosta, GA, Wayne served his country in the United States Army and later the Army Reserves, including a tour in Iraq. A master carpenter who built a career as an entrepreneur in the construction industry. He built his strong work ethic through various roles, such as fulfilling a childhood dream of driving semi-trucks and becoming a DJ known as "Silky Ce" at WIMV FM 103.7.
Wayne was devoted to his family, whom he cherished deeply. He married Diana Jones and together they welcomed their daughter, Nikita. He also had a stepdaughter, Nicole.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Diana Jones-Collier; his father, Pocahontas Collier, Sr.; his grandparents, Armaster and Ponzellar Davis, Albert and Mary Cofield, and Charlie Collier; his brother, Pocahontas Collier, Jr.; his nephew, Carlos Robinson; and his niece, Chyjuan Patrice Austin.
He joined Thomas Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He was one of the lead vocalists at the TCMBC Senior Choir and also a member of The J. Mathis Singing Group. He found great joy in connecting with others through music.
He loved spending time with his family, cherishing every moment together. Wayne found his greatest comfort in the company of loved ones.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his daughters Nikita Renee Collier and Nicole Simon (Stanley); his mother, Mae Nora White; his sisters, Lawanna Diane Austin (Tony) and Carla Marie Robinson; his brother, Alfred Collier; his mother-in-law, Mary Rome; his sister-in-law, Barbara Nesbit (Kelvin); his brother-in-law, Lawrence Rome (Sharon); his granddaughter, Aniya Simon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Home going services for Mr. Wayne Collier will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 2:00 P. M. at Thomas Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Rev. Salary is the pastor.
