Willie Lee Grant Robinson Wilson as born on December14, 1933 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Julius and Inez Grant. She was the youngest of four children. Willie was Mama and Daddy’s girl. She was an obedient and humble child whom her parents loved and adored.
Willie was introduced to the Christian experience at an early age. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and continued in her servitude to the Lord. She was a dedicated and devoted member of Amazing Grace Babtist Church where she so proudly served as a member of the Mother’s Board. Willie attended the Atlanta Public Schools during her primary and secondary educational years.
Willie married Nathaniel Robinson who preceded her in death and from that union one daughter, Mildred Robinson, was born. In later years she married Willie Wilson. They spent the remaining years of their lives together happily preparing meals, fishing, and many other activities until he was called to be with the Lord.
Willie was taught family values and how to maintain good work ethics. The teaching of those values opened many doors of opportunities for her throughout her life. She was a trusted and loyal employee and caregiver of children in and out of her community. Willie loved her church and attended frequently until her health declined. She loved God with all her heart. She would let you know she was born again and spirit-filled with God’s love and grace. Willie would tell you she was a Holy woman and that she had a relationship with God. She spent time reading her Bible and talking to the Lord.
Willie loved to laugh and to see others laugh and enjoy themselves. She was a lover of people -- especially children of all ages. She was a fun loving, joyful person to be around. She had a great sense of humor. She not only loved people, but she also loved animals – mostly dogs and cats. She had a special way with animals; she nurtured and cared for them lovingly.
Willie was positive in her thinking. She often offered words of encouragement and was always willing to pray for you. Her parting words were: “I love you,” “I’m praying for you,” and, “Everything is going to be alright for you.” She loved her family and friends as well as meeting new people and sharing with them.
Mother Willie Lee Grant Robinson Wilson will be remembered as a ‘lady’ in the truest sense – as a virtuous woman who truly loved the Lord.
