Ms. Kay Bridges Shead, 74, of Albany, Georgia departed this life on Wedneday, June 26, 2024 at her residence.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the Beulah Baptist Church, 802 S. Jefferson Street, Albany, Georgia 31701.
Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, 200 Cotton Ave, Albany, Georgia 31701.
The final chapter in the life of Kay Lou Bridges Shead was written on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. Obedient to the will of the Master, she answered the call and went quietly to sleep, making her transition to Heaven.

Kay was born on June 15, 1950, in Dawson, Georgia. She was the 4th of five daughters born from the union of the late Lester Bridges, Jr. and Rushie Bell Davis Bridges.
Reared in a Christian home, Kay accepted Christ as her personal savior at Crays Chapel CME Church and later joined Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member.
Her elementary and high school education was received in the public schools of Albany, GA. She was employed with and retired from M&M Mars after 20 plus years and thoroughly enjoyed her retirement. Kay loved visiting her son, Red, and grandsons, Reggie II and Ryan, in Maryland as well as her niece and nephew, Felicia and Glenn Batte in Virginia. She also loved knitting and watching her favorite T.V. shows, The Price is Right, Perry Mason and Gunsmoke.
Precious memories will forever be etched upon the hearts of her loving and devoted son, Reginald Bridges and his fiance Leshonda Rowe, her grandsons, Reginald Bridges II, Ryan Bridges and Adopted Grandson, Daniel Romero, Silver Spring, MD. Also to cherish her memory are four loving sisters and their husbands: Shirley Middough, Bronx, NY; Nellie and Sam Kelker, Marrero, LA; Lillie & Bernard Baker, Columbus, GA; Murlene Felt, Marrero, LA; special friend, Charlie Majors, Albany, GA; her beloved dog Gina; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
