Harnetha Renee Dean was born on January 5, 1963 to the late Joseph K. and Martha W. Martin Black. Renee as she is affectionately known, completed her journey as one of God's servants on July 1, 2024. She along with John Dean Jr. where the parents to the joy of her life and the apple of her eye, Nicholas Foster Dean.
Renee was a graduate of Spartanburg High School, Class of 1981. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of South Carolina in 2003 and a Master’s of Science degree in Nursing from Gardner-Web University in 2010.
She was a loyal and faithful member of Cornerstone Baptist Church where she served on the Health Ministry.
Renee retired from the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System after twenty-eight years of service as Director of Nursing.
Survivors include: her beloved son, Nicholas Foster Dean of Spartanburg, SC; her loving siblings: Ernest 'Tony' Parker Jr. (Sharon) of Sumter, SC, Teresa D. Patterson of Columbia, SC and Brigadier General Wayne L. Black (Symea) of Indianapolis, IN; her special Aunt Sallie McDowell; and a host of other uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life for Harnetha Renee Dean will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 700 S Converse St, Spartanburg, SC 29306. Dr. Larry Black and Bishop Dr. Charles J.J. Jackson, III will officiate. The family will receive visitation from family and friends from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at 210 Willow Oaks Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29301 on July 5, 2024.
