Mr. Reginald Thomas, 67, of Gadsden, AL, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024.
Mr. Reginald Thomas was born on July 28, 1956, to the late Mary Helen Thomas- Gray & Jimmy Lollar.
He heard and answered the Master’s call on July 5, 2024.
Mr. Thomas accepted Christ at an early age and was an active member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church under Reverend Mallory and subsequently, Reverend H.L. Spruill, where he served as an active member of the choir.
He was a graduate of Emma Sansom High School, class of 1975. He went on to join the United States Navy and became a USW Navy Shipment Specialist.
He faithfully worked at Tyson Food processing for many years until retirement.
Reginald enjoyed singing, socializing with his friends and basketball. He was quite a character who lived life on his own terms with joy and hope.
He was well known and accepted in the community.
He was preceded in death by: His parents, Mary Helen Thomas & Jimmy Lollar; grandfather, Earnest Thomas; grandmother, Lillian Lipscomb and step-father, George Gray.
He leaves to cherish his memories to: His son, Darrell Thomas of Lincoln, NE; one granddaughter and two grandsons of Lincoln, NE; sisters, Debra Brown, Jerry Thomas, and Linda Jackson, all of Gadsden, AL; Aunt, Earnestine Griffin of New York; Nieces, Latasha Jordan of Gadsden, AL, Morgan Brown of Colorado, Quinton & Keyonna Suttles of Huntsville, AL, and Jocelyn Jackson of Huntsville, AL; Special nephew, Rhofettle Dupree; nephews, Amarion Jordan, Allen Jordan and Jamar Jackson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, associates and friends.
Public Visitation will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024, from 12noon-5pm.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 12 noon at West Gadsden Funeral Home (Betty D. Robinson Chapel)
