OPELOUSAS – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas LA at 10:00 a.m. for Mr. Norman Newman, 74, who entered eternal rest on Friday, June 28, 2024 at his residence in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be at Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings, LA.

Mr. Newman’s memories are being cherished by: his loving wife of 53 years, Betty Seriale Newman of Opelousas, LA; one son, Chazz E. (Dr. lonzetta L.) Newman of Spring, TX; one brother, Roger (Roseanna) Newman of Opelousas, LA; two grandsons, Chazz E. Newman, Jr. and Chamberlain E. Newman; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, Nicholas and Martha Sonnier Newman; one brother, Dalton Newman; and one sister, Doris Newman.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA.
